I have a Frederick Charles Jesse Ellis born 1893 London. He married in Montreal Canada to Emma Shacknell. Emma was born c1892.

I can't find anyone in Canada with surname Shacknell on either the 1901 or 1911 census.

I am a little confused by the Passenger entry. Where is he going and where did he sail from?

They are travelling from Canada to Vermont, USA. The only other info given is that Frederick is from Finsbury, London, England.

So, perhaps they entered America, only to board a ship for London, England???

I think what Lisa is saying makes sense. If they were going back to England, they were probably heading for New York or Boston to board a ship. If they were leaving Montreal by car, Island Pond, Vermont could be the border crossing location.. being south of Montreal.

Hey that does seem to make sense. This now opens up a whole list of questions.
Did they stay in England?
Was his wife from Canada?
What was her surname?
I could go on.

This could be his birth reference. Holborn is in London.
