No sign of Elvin on the 1861 do you know parents names, perhaps it was a pet/nick name?

Teresa Report 23 Aug 2008 23:25

Hi.
He is down as Elvin on the 1891 and 1901 census, but marriage is Edward Parkin!!
I was hopeful for his parents on the earlier census, but thanks for looking.

Hi Gerry, yes I was just getting to the fact that it did tie in to the 1861 family I found, he was probably off with friends or family.

Possible, I know they messed with they estimated the ages a fair bit on the '41, four years isn't a huge difference but I'm not sure with the difference between a 15 yo and a 19yo. Only way to be sure is to go for the marriage cert and see if it all ties together.

Um... there's a Thomas Parkin christening on IGI (with the right area of birth) which leads me to believe that the census one for 1841 that Gerry has given might not be the one. (Just a tip coz I don't want to take all the fun out of doing it for yourself ;-) )

Happy hunting

Liz (who wishes all hers were so well listed on the igi LOL)

Oh well done hadn't thought to look on there for James. So they should be on the '41 and '51.
