UPDATE: Just to let you know, I have been in touch with Lesley and she is my long lost sister, we had a lovely chat this afternoon and will be meeting up once this snow has cleared. Thank you all for your help. I will be playing with this over the next weeks to see what else I can find out, well, once I get the hang of it, so no doubt I will be calling for assistance once more if you don't mind.

Freebmd is free website which has births, marriages and deaths in England and Wales from 1837 to about the mid 1900’s

FMP is Find my past which is not free

As you may suspect, this is new to me, joined a couple of hours ago and not really got a clue as yet.

I put my biological fathers name into Google and I found the obit in the Burnley Express, as one of you mentioned.

Then I looked further down the results and found the message from Lesley on here and joined.

I have clicked on Lesley's name and sent a message as suggested.

What is freebsd and FMP as one of you mentioned?

You could try to contact her by clicking on her name and sending a message, about which she will be notified by GR, assuming she still has the same email address

I would guess that she thinks/knows the man was her father, in view of the title of the thread.

It appears from records on freebmd that the man married four times
