Thank you all for the above especially Marlene who I suspect has found the right people on the 1901 census, I was going mad about not finding them there.
Thanks also to Reg, after interogating my Nan under hot lights I think this is their marriage you have found, my Nan confirms thew twins did have a double wedding ceremony.
I did not know what their parents names were or anything, but at least with Albert & Henry conformed as still being in this area I know it is worth me pursuing it.
Gertude's middle name was Amy, I have checked & she is not on 1901 census as Amy, I will just have to keep pursuing derivatives of these names. Wonder if her mother could also have been any Amy?

Thank you all

Hi, can anyone help me locate details of my great-grandmother, Gertrude Holland. Her birth was registered in Dec 1892 at Portsea Island, Hampshire, but this is the last trace I can find of her. I cannot locate her (or anyone called Holland) in the 1901 census and I know she did stay in the area as she later married a man from Portsea Island.

My great-grandfather was Albert Scarlett, birth registered March 1891 - along with his twin, Henry - and I also cannot find him on the 1901 census.

Does anyone know if there may be gaps in the 1901 census records?

Also, I cannot find any trace of these two marrying, which family anecdotes tell me was also in Portsea, however they did later live in South Wales so I am going to check there next.
