Hi Andy, no I havn't seen this one, and I think it is Thomas with his mother Mary, and just when I had given up hope of getting some answers!! This also, gives me some indication when Richard and Mary died. |

Hi Linda, thanks for your help, as no one as managed to find them on any census returns together, I think I am just going to have to accept that this is one mystery I may never solve. The unfortunate thing is not being able to establish who Bessy's parents were. |

Hi Linda, the Metcalfes are sometimes spelt with out an e at the end Metcalfe/Metcalf. |

Hi Linda, thanks for the igi information - but I have already got this and have managed to go back quite away on Mary Metcalfes line, as Mary's mother is living with them in 1841 - Jane umpleby. |
