Married 1935
All I assume took place in the Yorkshire area.

I am looking for a little more detail so I can send off to the right register office for her birth certificate.

Reg - any more info on the birth of Edith that you can call up - ie. date of birth and/or parents?

Rose - I don't think Edith was married before. Also, she died as Edith Horwell on 24 June 1957 in Leeds.

Have bought the marriage certificate which lists father as George Horwell

Think I've located her birth certificate on Yorkshire's Register of Births/Deaths/Marriages and will order it.

I would like to continue with this thread as I have some new information on Edith who registered the birth of her first son Kenneth Horwell in 1919 with a Mr Lomax as the father. I am trying to find a bit more information on this Mr Lomax. Must have been from Yorkshire because by all accounts Edith remained in and around Leeds.

Can anyone help please?

The 1919 birth registration gives mmn of Lupton, there's one in Q1 1920 under Horwell with mmn the same - which is the one you think is related to your Edith?

Neither birth is dual recorded with a name of Lomax (at least according to Freebmd), so he wouldn't have been named on the birth certificate.

Same as Flip- I don't see the birth unless it was registered first quarter on 1920- but that just lists mother's maiden name as Horwell.

If you have the birth certificate can you give details please (mr Lomax occupation, address etc).

If you don't have birth certificate where did the name Mr Lomax come from?
