Find Ancestors

Hello:

I am trying to find the family of Eva Ives who left England for Australia and settled in N.S.W. - Possibly Wollongong.

Her maiden name was Eva Bielby of Hull. She was the daughter of Hannah Widdowson and Jack Bieldby of Hull. She was born in 1909.

There is a June Ives and a Michael Ives also belonging to the family but I am not sure where they fit in.

I appreciate any help you can give me.

I am in Canada:

Eva's sibs were Ethel and Gilbert - not heard of a Herbert.

Trouble is the UK do not issue census forms regularly so I cannot find out when Eva left for Australia .... a June Ives was in touch with my late father about genealogy, and my son used to write to a Michael Ives in Wollongon NSW about 25 years ago.

Is there a site for researching Australian records online?

Different spelling of Bielby/Bealby, but I am sure that is the same Eva .... did not know the name of her hubbs.

I wonder if they had children.... if June was their daughter she would be in her eighties now....or she may have been a grand-child.

I feel sure there must be more siblings for Eva seeing as Gilbert, Eva and Ethel were born within 5 years of each other.

The Bielby after the name of the baby indicates the Ma's maiden name?

They moved around a lot didn't they .... but the Ives/Bielby connection is an uncommon one.

Noel came from Hampshire so that might explain the Portsmouth birth.

The births and marriages are from FreeBMD. Mother's maiden name was added in 1911 for the births.
