Were Margaret and Emily born as Bell?. There is a Margaret and Emily Bell both born Morpeth with mother Davidson.
Could it be that their mother died and the children were adopted out?
Perhaps Davidson is related someway to the family

PS just reread your message saying Margaret was the eldest. The Margaret I found is born 1921

If Margaret was the oldest she could have been born before 1911 third qt when mothers maiden name was added

You can look on freebmds for births without credits. Also you can order the birth cert for your grandmother online with a credit card from General Registry Office or ( Gro) as its called. Make sure you get the correct site as there are others calling themselves GRO and charging more to send the certs. You NEVER pay more than 7 pounds

Ethelthered has already given you the reg number you need to order

hi nicki you could be right with the amelia bartell?? my mother told me she thought her grandmother had the same name as her daughter agnes, but that wasn't a fact but my mother did say she was pretty sure her husbands name was robert bell? and that he may be from scotland? not sure? but you have given me another option to look at thankyou.

There is only one Bartell/Bell marriage.

The birth ericthered found for you shows that the surname is Bell and mother's maiden name was Bartell.
