Many thanks Julia, I didn't expect you to respond so quickly!

What a shame that none of names are there.

I know some of them were in India in 1957 but here in 1961.

Can I just ask what it means by 'returning to England'? Does that mean this was their second time here or just arrivals?

Thanks again

Selena

Have you anything for a Patt and Margaret Gleeson from County Cork as early as possible? possibly with a baby John?
or

William Henry John Strong from India to Engalnd in about 1971-1880- (He was born in India in 1870 and was sent back by the census in 1881)

If you have time I'd be very grateful-Vickie

Could you please have a look on passneger list for a Mr Henry Charles Howard Strong and his Wife Winifred Strong. I don't know where she was born but he was born in Devon,England in C1836. if that is any help . (most likely came back bewteen 1874 and 1881. I believe he may have docked at Portsea ,Hampshire where there is a death of a Winifred Strong registred.

He was a comissariat in the Indian Army and was serving in Allahabad, then East Indies and then Bengal inthe Bengal Light Infantry. He married Winnifred in India.-hence this record if it survives might show her origin of birth or any children travellling with them.

Any Help really appreciated-Thanks.

Misty

Glad to have helped with your Fallowfields.
Unfortunately, there is no Thomas Gilpin with that birth year on the records, sorry. Unusual name though and there are a lot of other Gilpins coming from Canada.

Hello Julia, this is a very good offer by you,. I have had the outgoing on Findmypast and was wondering how to find incoming. I can certainly let you have dates, but the Bannock clan were not major travellers, especially to and from Cape Town, Port Natal and Durban in South Africa. So any info regarding them would be a bonus. Many thanks for your time, Derek in France

Hi Julia,

Thank's again for the info on Fallowfield you found yesterday, I can find no connection as yet...BUT you may have solved a huge mystery....why my ggrandmother's son changed his name(on birth cert, with declaration from her husband( his father) in April 1928) on his return to England.I believe he was born before they married, just before they left for Canada, so may have had her maiden name when they all went!

Please could you have a look for Thomas Gilpin, born 1905 in England, returning from Canada around 1928.

Many Thank's

Mistyx
