Thanks, i am presuming that it would have been either my grandfather or one of his siblings who registered the death, they have all passed away now too.

It will give you who registered the death and their address which may help you further.

Those refs for Henry are his grave refs you would need to know which cemetery he was buried in to find the grave with those refs

the death cert wont give where she was born I,m afraid ,not for 1957. It does on later certs though.

Hester.
You probably putting her name in the search box.this only looks at the Freebmd indexes.Ancestry is a sponsor of Freebmd and uploads its info from time to time as Freebmd updates.
To search the full records you need to be on the first heading ,Home , then span down below the box the Go direct to UK Birth Marriage and Death records. it takes you to another page where you use the first Complete records (up to 1983) .you select the type you are looking for and then it means trawling through on a qtr by qtr by year basis.
You can see why us researchers want some sort of starting date as it could be a long search.
You gave 1957 as her death year so it only meant looking through the 4 qtrs for that year to find the death record.

the full records are pay to view .you either need an Ancestry sub or Find My Past subs or
buy units on there to search. Don't buy units from Genes as they dont hold records ,they just redirect you to another site. They arn.t a cheap way to do searching.
You can take a 14 free trial on Ancestry or a monthly sub .

Hester Report 27 Oct 2008 10:11

I don't understand why i can't find the deaths of Esther Orchover nee Reiss, in 1957 and Henry Orchover...all i can think is that maybe Henry moved out of the country as no one knows what happened to him, Esther def. died in 1957. Its all very strange.

Hester, the 1911 census isnt available at the moment . its hopefully going to be partially search able in 2009. If you have an address that can be looked at by an enquiry to the National Archives at Kew but it costs around £45 per address search and isnt refundable if that address searched doesnt show with the ancestors you hoped lived there.
We all waiting for this census to be available I think.!
