I'd like to track down the UK location / relations of John Robson, whose family ended up in Rio, Knox, Ohio in the 1850's. I know that his family left in two parties the latter leaving- in 1850, ending up in Ohio, but I have been unable to find their family link in the UK. The parents John Robson m Mary Brown ? of Whittington/Whittingham - (both spellings used in the US history pages, are not a lot of help, but William is beleived born Newcastle.) and I beleive they travelled in the summer of 1850 to New York with rest of family. so 1851 Census no help. To confuse matters, myy main tree stems from one other John Robson, Great Whittington, who is also married to a Mary and was at Todridge Farm, Whittington 1841/51/61 Census. ( I know this is a different John, but may in some way be related to the US group ) children of John and Mary - all born Northumberland, but who married in the US are John b. 5 March 1827 William b. 5 Sept 1831 Robert b.24 Oct 1834 James 8 March 1839 Henry Stewart.b. 1825 How's that for a challenge ? I have very little info tho.His name as it appears on his marriage certificate and also on his childrens baptism records is : John Willie Taylor. I have him on the 1901 census,living with his wife Rosa L but they are under the surname of Tyler but it is them as they are living with Rosa`s parents as well as their own daughter Caroline Emily,in Grays Essex.The census states that he was born in Bradford Yorks.His marriage certificate states that his father was William Taylor who was deceased at the time of marriage which was 1899 and both John and his father William were general labourers.I do not know John`s mothers name or if he had any siblings.I have ordered some birth certificates for John W Taylors in Yorkshire but none so far have come back with his father being called William.John left my g.g grandma sometime between 1909-1914 so i am waiting for the next census to see what it reveals.This is the only side of my family that i have been unable to trace:( I am seriously considering paying for proffesional help. My aunt tells me that her mum told her that her dad had something to do with the cotton mills which through research i have discovered Bradford was a thriving city with the famous Lister Mills.I would assume that if what i have been told is "true" then he would only have worked in them? 	Julia Could you give me details from the marriage cert please?I would like John's age on cert of marriage,any witness names on the cert also. Also do you know if the family stayed in Essex?Were any further children born elsewhere?Did see a John Willie Taylor born 1902 in Orsett,Essex.Reason i ask for is i have access to 1911 and it runs out today and Essex and a few other counties are not on the Beta version of the 1911. 	Hi Michelle, Please would it be possible to look up the 1901 census details for me, for an Alfred Toms born c1900, Devon and his family. There are 2 Alfred's born c1900 but the one I'm interested in is, I believe, the one on the 219 Household Schedule Number. Thanks, Christine

	Hi Michelle Happy New Year :) Could you see if you can find this couple and their children on the census returns please: Thomas BLANE born c1830 Hartford, Cheshire Jane BLANE [nee Dawson] born c1827 Marston, Cheshire They were married in 1849 - I found them on the 1881 census with 2 children Edwin b1861 and Walter born 1871 - still living in Cheshire - Thomas' occupation is shown as tailor & carpet fitter. I don't know if Thomas or Jane would be on the 1841 census ? Regards Angie
