No he didn't have three wives :-)
The 1881,1871 census I put on and the 1891 margaret put on are of the correct family.

Samspade

Samspade Report 7 Nov 2008 15:50

They won't be on a census together because they married 1882 and she had died before 1891.

Samspade

Samspade Report 7 Nov 2008 15:48

So you were looking at the wrong Thomas. It would have been easier if you'd put his middle name on your request.

There are two Thomas Tripp's on the 1861 census with parents James and Elizabeth.Maybe you have them muddled? Also Elizabeth's surname on the 1881 census is White and it says visitor.

I have had a look myself on the site below.

http://www.familysearch.org/eng/default.asp

I was looking for Thomas Tripp b 1860 in Cornwall. His mother was Elizabeth b 1829 and father James 1837. I looked at the 1881 census. On it, it had Elizabeth living with them as W (Widow I think?) can we know when James died? also a funny thing is Thomas 1860 was aged 21 on the census and recorded as married to a Georgina Tripp b 1861 St. Kevern Cornwall.

HOWEVER I know that Thomas b 1860 married Agnes Marsh and then after she died a Lucy Fairbrass!!! I he can't have married 3 times!!! ??? and why don't I know about it? Any geno detectives who can rescue me from a mushy brain??
