Three of her children were born in ,68 ,70 and,71 so the last one could be possible.
Can I just say thanks to you all now I,m struggling to keep up and I don,t want anyone to think i,m ungrateful for their help.

She may have had support from a man. Maybe he was already married. Maybe they lived together - or at least lived together some of the time.

I think she did lie so do the other contacts. If so that means she had seven Illegitimate children. How would she have coped on her own.

No proof is necessary when registering a birth. They could lie and quite often did lie. Sorry - not much comfort I know.

I cannot find a marraige for my ggg Grandmother, nor can two other people I have contacted.
Her son, my gg grandfather John Stott has his father named as Joshua Stott his mother is Ellen Cropper all born Rochdale.
She is single on the 1861 cencus and widowed by the 1871 cencus.
She continued to have several more children after she was widowed.
Do you have to prove that you are married when you are registering children or could she just say that she was.
I know that she was married by 1891 to James Entwisle
