That's what I also think about the marriage Janice.

I couldn't find a Martha/Thomas together in 1871, I couldn't open the image either for Martha.

Jean, I realise that Wirral and Birkenhead are now classed the same but the 2 people marrying have to have the same District, volume and page no to have married each other.

All the census details I posted fit with her marrying John Cooper, but you will only know for certain by getting her marriage cert.

I cannot open the original image page for Walters on freebmd or Ancestry(only opens images from surname begining "Wh" nothing before that)
Looked at original image for Littlemore and think it should say page 507 not 517 so putting in vol. page year and quarter into freebmd you get a page with 3 names

I think Thomas Littlemore maybe the missing one here and that if someone has found a Thomas/Martha on a census then it maybe the Martha above.
I think the Walters /Cooper link is the most likely

birkenhead is wirral on my marrage cetificate it says birkenhead wirral and i was born and bed in b/head we use birkenhead or wirral or cheshire
on documents........ will have to digg deep and sort out whom she did actually marry soon

If you are going to buy the marriage cert for Martha, request it with her details and ref no.

She didn't marry Thomas Littlemore.
He married in wirral district and the ref no is given wrong on Free BMD it should be 507 for him not 517.

search for births on freebmd and put Tinniswood for mmn gives some born surname Webster so she could have married Walter

Jean it was death index for Temple and then possible 2nd marriage /partner for Alice in 1901 with ?mother living in same household do you know if that is mothers name(Alice's mother)

cos its the names already on my tree cos ive all siblings partners names on tree been there ages
this walters line leads back to my grandmother
hence the interest

As I said earlier, the marriage for martha is Birkenhead district and Thomas Littlemore is Wirral.

The census details I have found seem to point to Martha marrying John Cooper but to be certain you need to buy the certificate.
