STILL looking for the Burgess family in the Basildon Area......anyone know of them, theres quite a few judging by the number of siblings, originally from the Paddington, London area....great grandparents were Charles Edward Burgess and Sarah Ann Mitchell, I knew her as Annie, sadly both deceased. Any help greatly appreciated.

Seems to be a day for finding nothing.

I have searched for any Ingall/Burgess children and there isn't any.
So maybe that Lilian marriage was not yours.

What a horrible new look this is!

Anyway I've searched for Lilian's marriage to Inggall and found absolutely nothing.

Hi, I would say roughly 1940s......my sister was born in 1941 and they were of similar age....she had 4 children 2 girls Tracey? 1961 ish, Sharon 1963 ish, Ricardo and Robert late 60s ...I seem to remember her husband went to prison for armed robbery...great eh....and thats as much as I can remember

I said I hope she's not the right one because it implies she was also married to a Sinclair before that marriage which would be confusing!
I will look and see if I can find a Burgess/Inggall marriage for you.
Do you know (roughly)what year Sandra was born?

I think we all wish we'd paid more attention and asked more questions when we had the chance ;-)

Thinking about this if I understand correctly and I may be wrong......but I think she married someone who died or went missing during the war, he may of been a GI, which I assume is Inggall and had a daughter Sandra. Lil then remarried someone alot younger than herself which I assume is Sinclair and had a son who I met once when he was in his early 20s so would have been born in the 1950s. Would that map in to the two last names....wish Id paid more attention during my childhood.

I've looked for any Healey/Burgess children and haven't found any yet.

Samspade

Samspade Report 9 Dec 2008 20:30

The birth date could be wrong it is given by the informant they may have not known.Your father could have been a prem baby but he must have been quite robust as I don't think the survival rate was very good back then.

Suzanne Report 9 Dec 2008 20:24

Athol certainly doesnt mean anything to me.....but interesting to note her birthday 21.1.1912.....my father Charles was 17.08.1912......I suppose my father could have been prem.??? Cld Hildas birth date be wrong???? My father married my mother in 1939....guess it happened alot at the beginning of the war?

Suzanne

Suzanne Report 9 Dec 2008 20:19
