Nope. My nana had a brother called Ron. He is still alive but very old and doesn't remember anything really. I've not had the opportunity to meet him about this so been unable to ask him anything. I think she had other brothers and sisters too though.

My dad recalls an Aunt Eliza, however he knows that his dad was one of many.

My nanas date of birth was 11th Oct but now my mum isn't sure if it was 1920 0r 1921!

Now you can see what difficulty I've been having!

These would be siblings of the Ethel Camm above:-

Births Dec 1912 (>99%)
Camm Solomon Forrest Wolstanton 6b 182
Births Mar 1914 (>99%)
CAMM Dennis Forrest Wolstanton 6b 184
Births Mar 1915 (99%)
Camm Norah Forrest Wolstanton 6b 184
Births Sep 1916 (>99%)
Camm Janet Forrest Wolstanton 6b 187

Any of the names ring a bell?

Searched for birth, 1921 anywhere and came up with nothing, so I extended the search to 1921 +/- 1yr and found these two. The first is Lancashire but the second is Staffordshire so could well be your nana's birth unless your mum is certain of the date of birth!

Births Sep 1920 (>99%)
Camm Ethel Waddington Burnley 8e 315

Births Dec 1920 (>99%)
Camm Ethel (Forrest) Wolstanton 6b 223

If this is her, then her mothers maiden name was Forrest!

Do you know the names of any of your Grandad's siblings, this might help to narrow the area down.

My nanas date of birth was 11th October 1921 - my mum seems to recall.

Thanks for you reply.

My nana was called Ethel and her maiden name was Camm.

I have no idea when her date of birth was either. Sorry.

What was your dad's mothers name and maiden name?

Hi,

I'm looking for my father's side of the family. Other than my dad and his brother, there are no more male Turner's left in my family to carry the name on so I want to do a family tree before it gets forgotten!

My grandad was named Albert Turner. He was born 31/03/1924. I have no idea where he was born. My dad has no idea what his grandparents were called and therefore no idea when they may have been born or where they may have lived.

I have specified Staffordshire as this is where I live and most of the family lived when they were alive but this is not necessarily where they were born!

Please help me make the next step and find my father's side to the family. How can I find out who my grandfathers parents were and when they were born?

I have done a search on 'search trees' for Turner's in Staffordshire but it has come up with so many results it was too overwhelming!

Please help! I know the Turner family is massive and goes back such a long way.

Many thanks,

Nicola Turner
