Just wondered if there were any relations here of James Smith Barnfather, born c1873 in Burley, leeds?
His mother Sarah Jane Gibson was a relative of mine and after finding lots of details about him on Ancestry i've become a bit obsessed with finding out about his life.
It seems he had a very successful career in the army as a Royal engineer, working his way up to Quartermaster Sgt, Regimental Sgt Major and Lieutenant.
It also seems from records that in 1910 at the age of 37 he(and possibly other family members) changed their names from Barnfather to Gibson, his mothers maiden name.

Any info appreciated.
