Would anyone be able to point me in the right direction about accessing Army and Navy records. Nearly all my uncles were in the army or navy and I find it very difficult to trace the records. Help required PLEASE

Many thanks.

If anyone is an expert in this I will put details of the 5 or 6 people concerned in the reply

You can access Army WW1 on Ancestry, WW2 is by application unless a death during this war.
If you put up the names, I/We can have a look for you.

See here for getting Royal Navy records - they may cost you and you will need permission from the next of kin...

Storm chaser

SpanishEyes Report 14 Feb 2009 05:37

Thank you everyone for showing interest. I am trying to find more info for all these people. PLEASE do not loose interest in trying to help me with this. The services connection is strong through the Ford side of the family and continues through to the present generation. In fact one son has been under fire this year and this certaimly heightens ones awareness. As the all the people are deceased and so are most of their families there are few pwople in the family to ask for info!

However I will find more info and will visit this message as often as I can in the next two weeks, unfortunately as I do not live in UK it means a special visit to access any records office so all help is really appreciated.

Take care
