Vera,
yes it is indeed,
just found Ann Milton and George Thomson's marriage in Turriff
in 1855,so the birth we think is the one for Robert ties in with those dates

I'm just pasting all this into word
and will have a go at checking it all out with sp later,i ran out of credits and hubby has the card!

but i really think we are on the right track,it's fab

Well Vera,
thought you would like to know,I did google them and they have popped up in an Esslemont family tree, what a surprise!
The only thing that's wrong is his date of birth, but the other info is correct except they only have the child that links to their tree and Margarets death is 18th and not the 31st,perhaps it was registered on the 31st
This is what they have
,with the date of death perhaps i will be able to go to Scotlands people and find him on there, also on the cert it should say the parents names
Thanks Blue

I can only find two extracted births for Robert Thomson in fyvie one in 1857 with parents names Ann Milton, father George Thomson
the other one was for 1874 so is not him.
But i will keep these birth details to one side for a mo,until i have more info on him.
I'm going to try googling him and his wife to see if they come up on there
Thanks

Oh wow,
that's a coincidence, because i just went on the IGI and found a Robert with those parents names,
also he did name one of his daughters Ann must have been after his mother as Agnes is named after Margarets mother
Thanks Vera

Do you know Vera,
i got a complete shock this morning when i was going through my tree and found that apart from his marriage to my great great gran,i had absolutely nothing for him, except for a made up date of birth estimated on my grans and made up place also estimated on my grans
So have decided this week to find out something for the poor chap!
your investigations being the first info i have on him
So to recap
He was born in fyvie around 1851/52 if the census is correct and thats it

Vera,
I bet you wished you hadn't seen my post now!
But
this is absolutely fantastic, because this one is him saying where he was born, which is great
funny he's changed his job
Shame she died the next year, but at least they were all together in the home and not still in the work house thingy
many many thanks
