Hi
Please could you search on the 1841 census for:
Elizabeth Britten born 1804/05 Unmarried (married in 1844 in Southwark). Father is William Britten (flax dresser is the occupation on E'beth's mc), I'd be surprised if she's still with him though as hse'd be about 36.

Any info greatly appreciated
Many thanks.
Louise

Also looking for George Hallett born 1799/1800 - occupation of 'boilermaker'. Married in 1844 in Southwark.

Hi showgirl,

Why have you not taken advice from your previous thread. If you get a copy of marriage certificate it will give you her father's name and so aid a search for correct parents

Marriages Jan- Mar 1916
Fisher John T Lancaster 8e 1367
Williams Eliza A Lancaster 8e 1367

Hi Jackie

Many thanks for the info you have found (1st Feb)- apologies for the delayed response, life got a bit busy!!
There's no mention of their son John, he was actually the eldest born in 1844 - it looks like the names have been muddled? John would be 7, George 6, Louisa 5 and Maria 2. I can't think they forgot they had a fourth child so presumably he was elsewhere on the day of the census.
No sign of either George or Elizabeth in 1841?
Thanks anyway, I definitely need to go to the Metropolitan archives I think!
Regards
Louise
