I think there is a brother John listed two years later in 1865 with the same parents.

And then my confusion begins why have two children with the same name, and change the first son's name to Thomas though it is his middle name.

I bet i am reading to much it to this,
But do you think i am following the right family?

Maybe you are right maybe they didn't get married, or maybe they just didnt reg it.

Elizabeth Thirza Johnson was Born in Clifton Bristol 1869 to Andrew Johnson and Sarah Goodland.

Thomas (John Thomas) Cook and Elizabeth's grand-daughter is still alive, she remembers the funeral and her mother Lilly Cook is buried with John Thomas and Elizabeth Thirza. It does say John Thomas on his headstone, but Thomas on every other document, that's why i am finding it so difficult to follow him before his marriage i can not even find his marriage to prove who his father was.

Cook Family, Crewkerne. I have in my tree, John Thomas Cook born O-D 1863 Chard, Crewkerne, have not applied for the birth certificate yet.


Hi everybody
My reason for this thread is i am pulling my hair out in hand fulls hahaha


On the Census John is only listed as Thomas, he is also listed as Thomas on his children's birth certificates. He married Elizabeth Thirza Johnson but i have no idea when or where, please could somebody help me find the marriage as i do not know if he used John Thomas or just Thomas Cook.

He is buried in Cardiff 29/04/1942 as John Thomas Cook with wife Elizabeth Thirza.

But i can follow him while he is married on the census, but before that, it's where i get confused.
There is a Sidney Cook with children John & Thomas in Crewkerne as his children, but Thomas was John not really Thomas.
Why would you name both your children John when they were born 2 years apart and the first John survived and change his name to his middle name Thomas.

Confusion, or do you think i have the wrong family.
Any help would be great.
