Rechecked Denson in 1930 Electoral roll.

Frederick William and Annie Josephine both at 139 Harris Street Sydney

that would be the Frederick William on the other birth record. Two down???

Our Horace really would have been a tad old to be on board ship in 1916, wouldn't he ... born 1870ish at the latest? Well, 45, not too old for an officer ...

Hi to all

I am pleased with all of the replies regarding Frederick or Fred ?? thank you again.

Marriage certificate for Frederick Cecil & Leonie Ruth Pryor states that he was a sheet metal worker and Leonie domestic.
Usual place of residence for Frederick was 201 Riley Street, Sydney, NSW
Usual place of residence for Leonie was 70 Liverpool Road, Summer Hill, NSW.

Witnesses to the marriage were Joseph Foote & Fanny Trew, that is what it seems to read, with the hand writing the way it is.

Frederick's father Horace Finlay Denson was a watchmaker at the time of the marriage in 1915.

Leonie Ruth married for the second time to Roland Wiltshire Beckingham 1928 Sydney, NSW. Roland was married before to Lena Houlahan, she died 1925 Redfern, NSW. Leonie Ruth died 1933 Sydney, NSW, Roland died 1959 Sydney.

You never know I just might come across another relative who knows something.

Thanks again...................

Hi, Oh we haven't finished yet. You have now given us more info to search. Still looking at Horace. Here is the next instalment:

I narrowed the search at Aus Archives and got this for the HR Denson guy:

DENSON HORACE RUSSELL : Date of birth - 11 May 1876 : Place of birth - CAMBRIDGE ENGLAND : Place of enlistment - Unknown : Next of Kin - Unknown

So he's not going to be the father of somebody born late 1880s or whatever it was ...

This is him in 1881:

Name: Horace R. Denson
Age: 5
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1876
Relation: Son
Father's Name: John R.
Mother's Name: Elizabeth A.
Where born: Cambridgeshire, England
Civil parish: St Andrew The Less
County/Island: Cambridgeshire

Same in 1891, no Frederick in the vicinity.

There is a death for a Frederick Denson in 1918. However, parents are incorrect, and middle initial is incorrect.

This is a very puzzling puzzle.
