To Choccy, This is a big, big thank you going out to Choccy,
I have managed to trace the Conner family in Canada and email a relative who is 89 yrs old, thank you for finding the passenger list for me on Helen Conner which set me up to trace a bit more info & put together a positive ID for this relation. I can not thank you enough.
I am still working on the others but not much further at present.
King Regards

Brampton Grove is abt 1 km N of Kenton tube station. It's on the Bakerloo line, past Wembley, but not quite as far as Tyne & Wear.

There is a Hodges connected in Northflleet Kent, Napier Rd my auntie thinks, that it was one of Henrys sisters married into the Hodges, She was known as Aunt Lil apparently, which could possibly be either Louisa or Emily .
This does not tie in with Middlesex though, ive looked at the map and can not find a Kenton in Middx, only in Devon, Suffolk &Tyne & Wear.
I will go on the internet maps & see if there is a Brampton Rd in the Northfleet / Gravesend area.
Thanks again

When Annie returned in 1954, the address she gave as UK address was -
c/o Hodges, 112 Brampton Grove, Kenton, Middlesex. Does it ring any bells?

It's been fascinating, and once you have a bit of luck it's just a matter of searching. I'm still looking for the family going to Oz by the way!

I cant beleive how much work you have put in to this, I am so grateful, Yes I think you HAVE found William or should I say Henry now, it certainly all fits.
I actually think you have FOUND FREDERICK aswell, he was a mystery, but it was never known that he went to Oz, no-one knew where he went, word was they thought he must have died, so i think you have uncovered him in Oz aswell!! inadvertantly solved a mystery there, Wow.
This family have been so hard, They were all called different names ie Harriet was Cissy, Helen or Ellen was Nellie, John was Jack etc etc, so in all it has baffled me for months, I cant thank you enough for putting these peices together for me,

Kay,

Have been looking for William in Oz and came up with his 'possible' death.

Registration No. 17264/1955
STEVENS FREDERICK WILLIAM
Father's given name HENRY
Mother's given name EMMA
District AUBURN B
Year of death 1955

This is the site I found him on. I know it says Frederick William, but with a father called Henry and a mother called Emma, it is in all probability him. I am now going to look elsewhere -

Starting from:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/genealogy/index-e.html
one can drill down to search passenger lists at:
http://www.collectionscanada.gc.ca/databases/passenger/001045-100.01-e.php
The index is by ship's names and voyages, rather than passengers, and in any case only goes up to 1922.

However, one could page thru the 30 images for the Tunisian in 1919/10/05, and find Helen Connor. (Well, I presume so, but I didn't actually go thru the images.)

On a seperate matter, Canadian provinces have long closed periods on BMDs before they become public documents. (95/80/70 y in Ontario, e.g.). Just as laws governing BMDs and their registrations vary from country to country in the UK, so they vary province to province in Canada.

I just can't thank you enough for all your help, you have found more in a couple of hours than I have found in months Im told William had 13 children in Australia but I can not get a lead on him at all, Im sure I tried the birth you found before but it leads to a different family, I will try again incase.
I think this has sparked the memory banks with my auntie aswell so I may get some more info on him & Helen that way.
Thanks again Choccy
