1901 census he is born Bedersley yorks 1880
Inmate of"private malitia infantry"?

And I can't find that because ...?

Edit -- because:

Name: William Farnworth <<
Age: 21
Estimated Birth Year: abt 1880
Relation: Inmate
Where born: Bederley, Yorkshire, England << Beverley, I read it?

Civil parish: Bury
County/Island: Lancashire

ED, institution, or vessel: The Barracks

I think he is an inmate of the barracks, and his occupation is Private, (in the) Militia Infantry.

In 1881, Elizabeth Marshall was in Caistor reg distr, Lincolnshire.

Births Sep 1880
MARSHALL William George Caistor 7a 651

I don't see that one in the 1881, or dying by 1881, on quick searches.

Or Elizabeth could just have called herself Mrs Farnsworth when she registered the birth?

Get the birth certificate and we'll talk.

This is the only birth I can see that would fit him anywhere near being reg as a Farnsworth

Births Sep 1880 (>99%)
FARNSWORTH William Durham 10a 418

Yeah, yeah,Im sending for it just to eliminate it if nothing else.

But I didnt think durham was very near hull, well judging by the map its not .

I have sent for the 1884 marriage of elizabeth and robert farnsworth.

chrissiex Report 26 Jun 2009 21:36

How can Robert farnsworth be williams real father if robert is married to sarah in 1881 and elizabeth and he didnt marry til 1884,ok,he could have signed a cert to say he was the dad.
But in that case where is william in 1881.

The mystery would be ... where the heck is he in 1881?

Brucie!

Even though I've seen these folks before (no previous thread, no fears), I'm still a bit at sea.

Tell us what you want. ;)

And what's so funny about the 1881 census?

Remind me what the mystery is here ...
