Hi again George..for your information....going back from Zephania Drury and Martha Peacocke (m.08.04.1673)

His parents were Humfrey Drurie (1601) and Susan Saunders

whose parents were Humphrey Drurie(1577) and Sybil Lowe(1580

whose father was Robert Drurie (1550)

I have all the Births and marriages and all the children, and in some cases the descendents of those siblings etc....

Let me know if you want to go that far with your tree

Hello Derek

Many thanks for your reply re my marrige query, it is much appreciated.

I do have some info about my Drury Family in Papplewick in 1640 Zephanie Drury, but not as yet back as far as you mention.

I should have mentioned that i also live in Nottingham, and perhaps i should go myself to the Archives, never seem to find the time.

Once again thanks for your time and trouble.

George

Dear Derek

Just received my Goater marriage cert today - Alfred Goater's father is listed as George Goater - looks like "gentleman"

Found a marriage on Ancestry for a George Goater to Sarah Fox at St Nicholas, Nottingham in 1810 which looks promising - same church as Alfred's marriage.

Is this marriage possibly included in your records and are there any other details?

Many thanks

Miriam

Hi miriam.i'm afraid I don't have the sources for Ashby de la Zouch..this thread, unlike my Derbyshire threads, only has Marriages up to 1812.

However..I do have other irons in the fire, and although I can't find Alfred Goater yet........(He is in the trade Directories for 1880 and 1902 at mount Street Works Nottingham)..I do have Amelia Thurmans family back to 1675!!.She was born in London, though her family definitely comes from Tollerton , near Nottingham.

What you really need is the marriage Certificate for 1841, which will give fathers name and profession.

All the best

Derek.

Dear Derek

Just noticed your kind offer - thank you!

I am looking for parents of Alfred Goater born c. 1819 in Ashby De La Zouch who married Amelia Thurman in Nottingham in 1841.

Many thanks for looking (and fingers crossed!)

best wishes

Nottingham City and County marriages records 1536-1812 .These are the Phillimore records, and am more than happy to share them with you.
Please note the dates end with 1812 in most cases.....though I can follow them up with Census records......
