I have my Yates on 1851 census HO107/2259
1861 RG/3097
1871 ...with an Alice ?
1881 RG11/4209
1891 RG12/3411
1901 RG12/3411.
So for me it's the 1871 puzzle re Mary Brunton ..is now Alice ? as first wife for my Yates Taylor.

I think he belongs to the Accrington couple Margaret which I've just deleted as they are the wrong ones. Yates and Mary Ann.

Trying to find 1st wife of Yates Taylor b1844 Blackburn Lancs , he married 2nd wife Jane Eccles 11/9/1880 St James Church Lower Darwen.
First wife possibly Mary Brunton bc1848 Lancashire.
