You could be right with the age at death , there can't be many Elizabeth Ellen's around.
I have had no luck with 1901 census either, they have all disappeared except for Charles Frank.

In answer to your original question, Elizabeth was married from 21 Wylva Road, Walton.and Charles Robert, from 6, Gilman Street, Everton."7th Dec. 1887. Her father was Peter Gillick mariner, and his was Alexander Proudfoot Macdonald, mariner.
Witnessed by Kate Macdonald (sister ), & John Knowles, (future husband to Kate ).

Yes ! that is my grandfathers marriage. I do have the certificate.
Also I do have the certificate, for Charles Robert and Elizabeth Gillick And have traced the witness' as his sister with her future husband, John Knowles, we have the relevent info. on them!.

I think I would order the Mckneale/Gillick marriage certificate, this would give you Peters age and his fathers name...... hopefully then we could find some of his family.

I can't trace Ellen after 1871, she may have remarried, or died, however I would defiantely say that Elizabeth in 1881 with the Mc Kays' is your lady.

I wouldn't just rule the other 1881 census out yet, Thomas also fits in nicely, as does Ellen..........Robert may have been Peter, he is also a Mariner.

I'll see if I can tie Mary in with the Gillick or Mcneale side.

Your 1881 census for Elizabeth E Gillock is the wrong one.
Elizabeths parents were Peter Gillick and Ellen. Please keep looking!!.
Your 1871 census is a possibility, pity it does not mention father, he maybe away at sea.
Your 1891 census is correct and is the one I got my info. from for Elizabeth and family.
The 1881 census on Charles Robert Macdonald is "my family" prior to his second marriage to Elizabeth Gillick after the death of Jane.
I have a birth certificate for Charles H Macdonald (1881 census) he was my grandfather.
Of George Macdonald (1881 census) we have no further trace.
