I'm trying to find my great grand-father's family. Frank Hayward born 1894 approx married Mabel Bennett 2/4/1923 in Birkenhead. Frank was a train driver at time of marriage. Have got info on Bennett side but only info on Hayward is father's name - Thomas Hayward who was a labourer and was dead 1923 at time of mariage. |

Thanks for this Lindsey, I have also seen this on 1901 census. I'm unsure whether this is my Frank though as his father was THOMAS Hayward not MJ? Frank married a Mabel Bennett(!) from a very complicated family of Bennetts with multiple marriages and children! |

Thanks for the Frank Vernon tip - I too have seen this - was it common then not to use middle names in a marriage cert as I have Frank & Mabel's marriage cert and no mention of a middle name there??? If so, will order the birth certificate to discover more! Many many thanks for all your help everyone - I'm so impressed with how helpful people are on this site! Good luck with your research x |
