Jacki

many of the big department stors, drapers, clothing factories, etc had dormitory style accommodation on the top floor ....... or had dormitories in a near by building. Unmarried staff were often expected to live in these dormitories ..... and of course women stopped working in such places when they got married because they couldn't live in

so it could well have been a factory with so many wrkers. did they live there too then goin by cens.??
it must have been quiet large if all these people lived there unless it ws very cramped as i guess lots of places weere in those days.. iwill google and see what cums out ...it would be realy great if i could find an old picture of this place somwhere..if you have any ideas other than googleing pls share it . haha

Jackie,

Had a look at next page and that looks like it covers 33 as well, the next number after that seems to be 38 all are workers in the drapery business, could it have been a shop or factory, indeed looking at todays records it seems that Debenhams now occupies 33 to 39 Drapery.

33 Drapery street, all the houses seem to be drapers,, nearly all of those listed are drapers assistants

Interestingly enough if you google the address it comes up now as Brides at Debenhams
