yes and i have her on the 1911 census, after james had died. She is listed as Mary Theresa Bradshaw age 43 (widow) and my great grandfather jOSEPH,is also there age 15

yes maybe i will have to re-order the certificate as i cant find it. i know i have definitely seen it because thats where i discovered her father's name and one of the witnesses was called Mary Gertrude Magdalena, or something like that because i remember thinking thats a mouthful of a name!

i know, im confused.

How could she have married in 1888 at 13 and still be on the 1891 census under her maiden name Mary Stevenson.

Thanks everyone for the info. i did have her marriage certificate (when she married James Bradshaw in 1888). Thats how i worked out her date of birth. James was a widower and was about 20 years older than her.
I have since mis-placed the certificate.
I now wonder if maybe she lied about how old she was?

If this is the correct family she was born a lot later than you thought.

There's nothing showing on Lancs BMD (births) which does cover Preston.
