Nice one Janice.
James Beckwith is a carpenter the same as Walter in 1911

Yes, that's what made me feel Walter Guy is the one we want.

Still think Hurnell is a name that's come from somewhere else though: there's nothing appearing in this line to confirm the name at all. There are Hurnell BMDs in the Edmonton district, however, so perhaps someone else in the family married a Hurnell somewhere along the line.

Janice and Quinsgran,
because of your fantastic help last night i was able to search around a bit more.
I found why Edith called herself Hurnell, on the 1911 census i found her mother Sarah Hurnell married to a Harry Hurnell for less then a year.
They are living at the same place as Edith and her husband Walter Beckwith.
It looks as if Sarah Dunkley married Charles Picton first and had Edith, but Edith must of really liked this Harry Hurnell as that was the name she told my mother inlaw was her maiden name. Would just love to say thank you again for your fantastic work. So the out come was Edith Picton did married Walter Guy Beckwith!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKYOU SO VERY MUCH,
ANN.
