He was 29 on the marriage cert, which does tie-in with the fact that he should be born 1896.

The problem with death data is, the info is only as good as the informant believed it to be... IE if the informant believed him to be 60, 60 it is, whether it's right or wrong It's not exact!!.

How old was he on his marriage cert?

Yes I have the marriage cert.
I also know George Stanley Watson died 31/10/1956
George Stanley was a 'journeyman Saddler' on the marriage cert'
I also know his birthday was 23 March which should mean he was born on 23/03/1896 but there is no George Stanley born on this date.
His father is shown as 'Frederick Watson (Master Saddler) Deceased'

Living relatives tell me that the only reference George made to his family was the fact that he and his brothers ran a shop in Norfolk. One relative says he mentioned Swaffham but others say that he did not!

You have the 1926 marriage certificate, Keith?

What name and occupation does it show for George's father?

They married in Nottinghamshire so this would be Caroline:

Births Sep 1906
Bagguley Caroline Mansfield 7b 159

Can you say where the info about Norfolk came from?

Keith

Looking for Thomas Watson who had a shop of some sort (believed to be in the Norfolk area) in the early 1900's.
Thomas ran the shop witj his brothers George and ????.
George is my Grand Father born 1896 (I believe Thimas was older) but I cannot find anything about his family?
Thanks, Keith Watson
