The child that is down on 1891 as Ferdindo?Postlethwaite.
Reg as Cole then,not Postlethwaite.

This would appear to be his birth

If that Mary jane Mckinstry is right, which of course is only guessing, then she would have been 16 not 6 in 1895,so where does the age 6 keep coming from?

Maybe Thomas Postlethwaite died years before,or she just left him, and she just kept having kids, never remarried and reged them under that surname,as my greatgran did with all her brood of illegitimates, including my gran.

Linda.~~~~ Not long til your hols now..

Terence Report 14 Sep 2009 12:26

I cant find Thomas Postlethwaite death in 1895 as Annie was born in September it would have to be the same year

Terence

Terence Report 14 Sep 2009 11:56

That looks good Hoping, no father on birth certs.
Widow of Thomas Postethwaite an Iron Moulder Journeyman was on Charlotte Emma death cert.
Maybe we can find them under the other spelling

Can you give us thomas's occupation from one of the birth certs? No marriage so far between 1860-1890, however there is a thomas on the census with a wife elizabeth. Ignore that, just realised you only have fathers name on arthurs cert, unless there is an occupation given?

The only birth I can find for a charlotte mckinstry is on family search in 1859 in armagh ireland. There is nothing coming up for a marriage between her and thomas postlethwaite from 1860/90, and no other census records that I can find. If the birth for mary jane is correct, and it seems to be, then why can't we find a mary jane and mother on the 1881/91 census?? Back to the drawing board.

Freewheel, it said McKinstry on her death cert but we are not sure if this is her maiden name or another married name as the children she had under Postlethwaite she was already in her thirties. We think we may have found some earlier children.
