The 1901 and 1911 Canadian censuses are free on Automated Genealogy. If you click on "split screen" on 1911 you'll see the original which says that Duncan Sr. was born Scotland and emigrated 1853. Duncan Jr. and other children born Ontario. |

I'd better re-check. I said the 1911 census says that they emigrated 1853 but on the 81 census it says that daughter Isabella was born 1856, Scotland. |

The 1891 census has Duncan Cameron, widower, age 70, born Scotland. a Presbyterian minister, with daughters Isabella, 34, and Marg, 30, both born Ontario. They're in Middlesex North, Ontario. |

Oh my goodness! On that 1861 census that Dee found, they're in my neck of the woods! I'm not far from Lochiel, Glengarry. Hopefully I can dig up more. |

In the 1857 Directory of Ontario there's a Rev. Duncan Cameron, Quigley's Corners, Glengarry, Ontario, Free Church. Makes it look like the 1853 year of immigration is correct and not 1858. |
