Hi Kathleen

I don't know if she missed a reply on an earlier thread, although I certainly spotted your post on this one.

Unfortunatley, Caroline Standart Hunter married John Mortimer..the actual image is on Ancestry London PR. The IGI bap you find is no doubt correct and refers to the wife of John Mortimer, but not to the wife of a Thomas Robinson, This was who Susan was trying to find.

Hi Susan,

Did you miss my post this morning giving the birth and baptism dates and parent's names of Caroline Slandert Hunter?

The information was from the IGI and it was an extracted entry which means it was taken from parish records so should be reliable.

Check with your cousin about how they got the baptism record for Edwin, then consider ordering the Barbados one with the refernce nos given to you.

If you can afford it, also order the UK one for Ann May

Noooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You were the one who suggested it!!!!!!!

Personally, if we can't find a more likely marriage in the UK, I'd be inclined to look at Barbados or where ever else he may have been posted.

Susan

Susan Report 23 Oct 2009 14:10

hi det

The marriage image from the PR doesn't show a middle name for Margaret.

It's always possible that Caroline and Thomas didn't get married.

Susan,
When you're ordering Edwin's birth cert from the GRO-try to put it down EXACTLY as I have written it. They can get awfully "picky"!!
Good luck!

hi det
do you think that margaret's middle name was caroline

+++DetEcTive+++ Report 23 Oct 2009 13:59

Not necessarily a bigamus marriage, certainly not with the records we have found so far.

I'd go along with Maureen's suggestion of the birth for Ann May Robinson and I agree with her that the page # is 84, not 74.

If you did decide to order it, specify father's name Thomas or alternatively mother's name Caroline. That way if Ann May is not Ann Mary, you will be refunded £4 (might be £3)
