I get really worried when people say they 'think' info found is the person they want -

And it looks to me that the two censuses refer to the same Elizabeth (Algie).

Where did you get her details?

And can you please do as I asked earlier, and check your date info...............specifically with regard to Georgina's parents.......

Using the information that Freewheel has given you from the census, it should be pretty easy to identify these siblings from their middle names on Scotlandspeople. If you buy some credits 30 for £6 - 1 credit to view search result and 5 to view certificate, you will be able to get all their births.

If you do a search for Cameron births between 1874 and 1895 (just in case there was a couple more) and select Glasgow then Bridgeton you should get most over no more than 2 pages. That will use 2 credits leaving you 28 which will let you view 5 certificates - pretty good value I would say. You will then have their full names and exact dates of birth.

EDIT

If David's mother's maiden surname was Young then the chances are that Janet is named for her so she was probably Janet Young. Likewise is could be that The child with the initials McI is named for David's father's mother and the McI is her maiden surname. This was a fairly common Scottish naming pattern.

I think the first one is my Elizabeth Algie, as her father was James Algie & mother was Elizabeth Morris. The name Colquhoun doesen't seem to fit my tree

Freewheel, thanks for the info on the Cameron's, didn't realise there were so many. I notice jane's middle name is McL, should i assume this ia an abbreviation of something else?
I also noticed that some of the childrens middle names begin with B or Y, I know David's middle name is Blair (mother's maiden name) & her mother was Young. Would this be a possibility?

That's OK - just making sure - many people think siblings are a person's children!

Rallyreg

Elgin is pretty far away from Bridgeton, Glasgow.

I don't see a Suitable Georgina either! I have even looked for an Ina as this is most likely what she would have been known as.

There are not that many McMillan families in Bridgeton - a few more MacMillan's and lots more of each in the neighbouring district of the Calton.

Freewheel Report 23 Oct 2009 13:19

Do you actually mean 'siblings' (brothers and sisters)? Or are you looking for their offspring?
