cancel the last comment on the 1891 census, I've just double checked and they lived in Toxteth Park then ..... sorry about that.

Yes 1891 looks like Barcroft to me too!

I have to say I don't do well reading script and if I could copy and paste the images I would.

B1....I have checked through the Street Map West Derby 1851 (earlier than you are wanting) and can find nothing closely resembling either names...Have also checked West Derby Streets from 1881 Census and again nothing...
Have you tried to locate Catherine on an earlier West Derby Census ?

Not a silly question but yes I did try google maps 1st which is why I can't work out what it should or if it isn't there anymore.

My G Granny Catherine Hussey had a child out of wed lock (1916) and the father listed was William Jones. In 1937 William was listed as deceased, Collier. I want to try and find a William Jones who lived near her but I can't work out where she lived and so I can't go much further.

I'm not sure if the streets have been renamed over the years in the West Derby Liverpool area. On the 1901 census the street name looks like BARCROFT but on a 1916 birth cert the street looks like BARVEL. It falls within the Parish of St Nathaniel Windor (St?) if that helps.

1901 census link for William Hussey & wife Mary J is;
