Wow this is great! I have been away for a couple of years (fast tracking a degree in my spare time) and now I am back this has been resurrected.

Ladykira - thanks again, that list was deja vous, reminded me of scrolling through microfiche in the 80's pre GR! There's a few there I didn't have.

Frank, I believe all the Norcott/Northcott etc in Norton Fitzwarren are the same family. How do they fit into your family tree?

You are correct Rachael married John Harris 8 July 1791. I have two children for them:
Betty: bap 12/8/1792
John: bap 3/1/1796

As an aside, the Harris family show up later where a John (could this be the one above- 3/1/1796?) and Harriet Harris baptise a bunch of children

John, Elizabeth (Betty), William and Elias appear to be popular Northcott names.
I believe John (Rachaels father) was the son of Elias and Catherine and there are additional people in Ladykira's list that I need to pore over and compare with my list. I am all fired up again now.

Oh this is getting exciting Frank - Looking through my old transcripts I have found some papers where my father (Frank Northcott) got bored waiting for me and copied down some docs.

John and Florence Harris are the parents of my father's mother, so my great grandparents. This John is Rachel's great grandson. John and Florence had 8 children the last of which was my grandmother, Laura May Harris b1901. Sadly, Florence died the same year I'm thinking a post natal infection possibly and John married again in 1907 to a Annie Amelia Gibbs, having two more children, both daughters, Irene and Doris. The 1911 Census has them living in Monkton Combe.

I said in my message to you that because of the number of same names used within the Norcott/Northcott family over the generations it is quite confusing to try to establish the various family hierarchies.

I'm more than happy to stay in touch and compare notes with you but as I live in Brazil I warn you that my internet connection can be flaky to say the least, it often disappears without notice only to reappear a few days later - customer service is not very high on the telephone company's list of priorities as they have no competition.
