I am trying to find where my grandfather was in 1911 because he was born in Norwich and was still at home in the 1901 census age 20 but then he met my grandmother who was from Swansea S.Wales and they moved down to Fishguard in West Wales where my father was born in 1915. His full name was Harry William Hall born Norwich 8 Jan 1881 and died Fishguard, West Wales 10 Sept 1941,I have both birth and death certs, his fathers name was also Harry William Hall born 1858 died 1899 mothers name Elizabeth Leach born 1862. In the 1901 census their address was 8 Garden St Norwich his siblings were Alice 5 Emily 8 Fred 10 Gertrude 12 Milly 3 William 18 ... Harry juniors wife (my g mother) name was Lucy Thorne born 1887 in Swansea S.Wales, I also have birth and death certs for Lucy.
I would be grateful if someone could find him as he seems to have travelled right across the UK from east to west between 1901-1915.

Michael, have you seen Jonesey's threads on Tips Board? Lots of advice for searching 1911. You can find loads without spending a thing if you do it right!
Havinf said that. I can't actually locate him yet!

Best I can find so far:

HALL JACK M 1861 50 Flegg Norfolk
HALL ROBERT M 1824 87 Flegg Norfolk
HALL RUBY F 1895 16 Flegg Norfolk

Hi Janet--- No I am afraid I hadnt seen Joneseys tips thanks for that some good tips there I shall have to give it another go but I dont seem to be getting anywhere.
The family that you came up with in the 1881 is the wrong one as I have the family details in 1891 and they dont correspond.
I also have the family details in the 1911 four of the children were still at home but Harry was not included.

Thanks

Hi,

You say that your grandmother was from Swansea and they moved to Fishguard.

Where and when did they marry please?

Dea x

Michael

Michael Report 6 Nov 2009 18:01

Hi Dea--- This was a mystery as it only came to light after they had both died that they werent married and no one knew until the family were sorting out their finances etc.

Thanks

However, I 'may' have found a reason for them not marrying - Could he have been married already???
