there is a birth on Scotlands People of a George Alfred Young

10 June 1897 birth took place in the Gas Works in Lockerbie

father was John Alfred Young a Gas manager and mother Hannah Margaret Young m/s Wilson they were married on 26 June 1896 in Edinburgh. Birth was registered in parish of Dryfesdale in the County of Dumfries

parents details are him - John Wilson Young dec manager of gas works mother AnneYound dec maiden name lookes like Mounsley her father was Richard Wislon dec watchman and mother Nancy Wilson dec maiden name
cannot make out sorry. Groom was 26 bride 24

at the time of the marriage his usual address was 6 Cockshaw Hexham Newcastle and hers 99 ST Leonards Street Edinburgh

Hope this helps the birth as been put in Records as George Alfred but its hard to tell as I have come across certs before where the middle name has been written first.

Looking at the 1911 census, I think his place of birth looks like Dunrobin, Scotland. Perhaps someone else could have a look at the image.
