Hi Pauline. Reference the twin of your Aunt Lilian, if the twin lived only a few hours it would'nt be registered as a live birth it would be classed as stillborn. I am a twin and my twin brother died within 48 hrs. you can get a stillborn certificate from the General Register Office providing you know the date of birth and the parents full names and birth place. it costs £7.00 for a cert. I hope this helps.

There is another missing child in this family, so would like to find out more

PS Would this certificate have been in force in 1909?
as obviously you were born MUCH later than this

Any child born alive should have their birth registered, no matter how long they lived.
Stillborn children are not born alive. Sadly they die before birth and only these children will be on the stillborn register after 1927. Access to their details is limited to parents, or if the parents are deceased then siblings may apply for details.

Martin George Charles 1 St Olave

this is in Jun q 1902

Edit - Just found the birth regd in Sept q 1900

Don't think this is my one, as does not show on 1901 census, but a coincedence the name George Charles, (my Father was Charles george)
I am expecting to find a George, (possibly G Henry). There are a lot of George Martins, as every member of the family had a son called GEORGE

There is another possibile.

I looked for George and Alice's marriage which I see was Dec q 1898.

Births Dec q 1899

Martin George Frederick St Olave 1d 207

Deaths Dec q 1899

Martin George Frederick 0 St Olave 1d 158

Not the one . I have found the "missing " son George James born 1st qtr 1903, died in same qtr. This is the correct one, as shows parents as George Henry and Alice Edith Martin. Still not able to find the twin. Have had a copy of Lily birth cert read to me , she was born 29/6/1908. Reg july.
No mention of a twin (her birth ref St olave 1d 163)
Having found the missing son, I am happy to leave it at that.
So once again thank you all who helped, and for valuable help given
Pauline Now to look back a generation. More GEORGE 's to find.!!!!
