That's great info you have there but why can I not find these 2 on 1891 or 1901 census.
I am now begining to think the perhaps they & others were put into a home or workhouse if Emily became a widow. But when I putBessie's name into search the census surely this would come up as to where they are.
Bessie did not die she went on to have 11 children.

I have Bessie's birth cert naming her parents but in 1891 Census Bessie is not included & in 1891 census only Emily appears to be alive with just 1 son.
Why would she not be on the 1891 Census when she would have been 6. I note that Emily appears to be a widow then with just 1 13 yr old son with her.

My grandmother Bessie Davis dau of Samuel & Emily Davis b 1885 in Haggerston, Shoreditch does not appear on 1891 & 1901 Census with her family. She 1st appears in 1911 married with 3 children. I think I have found her parents in 1891 Census with 5 children but no Bessie. I have searched GR & Ancestry but with no luck.
Any suggestions would be appreciated to my knowledge she was not adopted or fostered out.
Thankyou
