I'VE RECEIVED THE BIRTH CERT!!!! (Wow, a lot quicker than I thought it would be; God Bless you Royal Mail!!!!)

Thanks for all your help. Yes, was the Walter 'Riglee' entry! Details:

20th Sept 1883
Highmoor, Kinson

Mother: Sarah Rigler, Highmoor, Kinson
No details on 'Father'

Since Walter gave 'George Nippard' as his father on wedding cert, presume his parents are both Sarah and George?!

Just a case of working out George Nippard's relationship to Sarah - was she his step daughter?? Hope he wasn't her biological father??! Yeuk!

Second paragraph of this transcription no 33 I wonder if this is Lydia but it says she is aged 9 and I can't find her on FMP if I put in her name.

Update us when you get the cert, Kelly.

Kelly

Kelly Report 27 Nov 2009 15:33

Yes, I've ordered the 'Riglee' cert - the last one I ordered thought took a couple of weeks so not expecting it any time soon!

Potty

Potty Report 27 Nov 2009 15:29

Sorry, Kelly, I cannot find anything else - no trace of the family on the 1851 and no Sarah in 1871

Dea

Dea Report 27 Nov 2009 15:25

I think that 'Riglee' birth reg which Potty found will be the key! - Is that one on order?

Thanks, but I already have a copy of the 1911 census.

Dea

Dea Report 27 Nov 2009 15:12

Having looked at the witnesses, I believe they are 'work colleagues' and not related - no help there then.

Do you have them with children on 1911 or do you need me to post the details?

Dea

Dea Report 27 Nov 2009 13:45

Yes Potty,

I have John in the 'House of Correction' on 1841 + Isabella + Mum (Salah) - Celia? in the Workhouse but I can't trace Lydia?

Thanks Potty,

That could well be John's marriage to Celia (Seler??) Troke - Lydia's mother.

Well done!

Potty Report 27 Nov 2009 12:50

Could this be the Rigler/Choke connection?:

Marriages Dec 1838 (>99%)
BARTLETT Sarah Christchurch 8 263
HOLLOWAY Henry Christchurch 8 263
RICKLER John Christchurch 8 263
TROKE Seler Christchurch 8 263

And a possible previous marriage for John?:

JOHN RIGLAR Pedigree
Marriages:
Spouse: MARY SCOTT Family
Marriage: 23 MAY 1831 Great Canford, Dorset, England

Everything please - including witnesses.

Good morning Kelly.

A little better today thank you!.

Anyway, I am not sure that you will get any helpful info from that cert though - we need to work out how Lydia seems to have become a Troke?

Also we need Sarah on 1871.

I will keep at it!
