There's a Charles Hildreth in 1901 census b abt 1867 in Darlington, parents Thomas and Elizabeth. Darlington adjoins Stockton boundary and both were in County Durham at that time so wonder if that might be him?

I think Ellen and Frank 1881 are the same as that Ellen was also born 1850 ish in farnham Serrey, maybe they just lived tohether before they married.

A quick recap, so as to avoid muliple look ups. Thanks to everyone for their help, and suggestions. I'll start from 1891, and work back.

Jul 10 1891- Marriage of Charles Hildreth ,33,
to Elizabeth Langford, 30, in Dalziel Parish, Motherwell, Scotland.

At time of marriage, Charles is recorded as a puddler.
His father, Francis, is living, and a general labourer.
His mother, Elizabeth Oxley, is deceased.

Hope that this helps.

1881 frank(Francis ) and ellen District 2 view 25 ward 3 98,Church St Battersea.

1891 ellen hildreth widow 39,Francis st Batersea district 2 view 38 view 28 is 98,Church st.Also ward 3.

So it really looks like both these ellen's are Ellen nee Green.

But if Francis was still alive July 1891 then he would be on 1891 census!!!!!!!!

Hi Mary.

Should be the case, Francis should be on the 1891 census. I have looked, without digging, if you know what I mean.

Iam looking into the Hildreth line for my aunts. My gran married John, after having my mum, but my aunts are still my aunts! Seems their dad didn't say too much about his family.

Seems now that I have a good deal of info to pass on.
