Mel, he isnt related either . We thought there might be a chance but not at the moment he isn't.

Unfortunately my Ancestry has run out and all the census i got i put on to shoe box and cannot access them. They are also on the 1861 census with a family called White and i think its Nehemiah brother and susan whitlock.

I have Nehemiah on a census now and I see that Rhoda's birth is 1856 Inkpen Wilts which is what you have on another census.


There is also a Nehemiah Ayres born Hampshire 1850 and a death of same in 1850. Have you looked into these to see if they are connected? Birth is Jul Aug Sept and death is Oct Nov Dec.

I have Rhodas' birth cert. Her Parents names are Nehemiah Ayres and Susan Ayres nee Whitlock. Its in the name of Rhoda Ayres 1856 , Wilts.

This family tree is full of twists and turns. It has long been thought, not 100% proved we are working on it though, that Nehemiah Ayres changed his name or rather became known as John Turner. They were Gypsies and like many were in trouble at one time or other with the law. This is why we think they changed the family name.
A death for Nehemiah has not been found, ( one in 1850 isn't him its an infant ) however we haven't found a death for John Turner either. But we have for Susan Whitlock, right place and age and also a corner report. No mention of her husband or should i say partner as no marriage has been found either. Not for a Nehemiah Ayres nor a John Turner

Vera his parents are Charles and Rhoda Stokwell on the cert. And on his Wedding cert (albert) its still charles Stockwell. I must admit i was worried when i ordered both in case of a name chanage

I do have Albert cert and his parents are RHoda and Charles Stockwell.

What i need to find out is, if i claim who i want to from this census then who are the others are they Williams? Sheen? 60 % sure they aren't stockwells but then who Knows

If you buy his birth cert it will tell you his mothers maiden name and possibly his father.

I don't think this family really wanted to be found hence the different surnames.
