thanks everyone. How do I find out where he lived as a child ? as the earliest census is 1841.

1851 census records St Decumans as his birthplace as well. It's the parish church of Watchet which is only a couple of miles from Williton. He's living in Long St, Williton parish of St Decumans from 1851 to 1881 and as he's living in Williton in 1841 there's a good chance he's in Long St. I'd say he never ventured far from home.

Unfortunately Somerset parish records aren't online.

I am trying to find a Robert Bray born around 1805 who married Elizabeth. He lived in st decumans , williton in somerset. Does anyone know who his parents were or where he lived as a child ?
