I've done an address search for 66 King Street, Lincoln in 1911 - not the Middletons or Codlings. I'm not able to find Ernest in 1901 or earlier either.

The church they were married at was St Peter of Gowls - anybody know where that might be?

Madmeg

Madmeg Report 3 Mar 2010 12:12

Lesley has pmd me to say the father was William Middleton, Labourer. Witnesses were John William Codling and Elsie Codling. They were living at 66 King Street, Lincoln.

There is still no sign of the couple in 1911. The original 1911 site has only one Ernest Middleton living with a Florence, which is in Cheltenham, but he is unmarried and she is his 10-year old sister.

Marriages Mar 1911 (>99%)

Middleton Ernest Lincoln 7a 694
Walker Florence Lincoln 7a 694

This will give his father's name and occupation and might help with your search.

I have looked for Ernest on the 1911 census to no avail. If you know he was married in February 1911, you presumably have his marriage certificate. So can you tell us his father, and his age at marriage? Any witnessses to the marriage.

What makes you think he moved to Liverpool? When do you think he moved there?

Are you looking to trace his ancestors or his descendants?

FannyByGaslight

FannyByGaslight Report 1 Mar 2010 23:08

His marriage cert will give you his fathers name and occupation (hopefully if he knew it)to be able to trace him with family..

Lesley Report 1 Mar 2010 23:03

Can anyone help me to trace the family of Ernest Middleton who was born in or around the Lincoln area approx 1889. I believe he came from a large family. He married Florence Walker in February 1911. They moved to Liverpool. Any help would be appreciated as I have come to a complete stop on this branch of the family. Thanks in advance for any help.
