Harold

Harold Report 12 Mar 2010 18:51

I need help with my 3x greatgrandfather. He was James Shaw born about 1791 in the Huddersfield area. I thought I'd got him pinned down from another tree as married to a Betty Leach but the more I look at it the more I realise I don't have enough evidence and may be off the mark.
What I do know is that I have him in the 1861 census as a widower living with son James (b1820) and his wife Mary nee Baxter in Lockwood/Golcar. I know for certain this is the right family because the boy also there is John Hellawell Shaw my great grandad who like me has Hellawell as a middle name.
I would appreciate help in confirming or redirecting me if I have indeed taken the wrong path
