I have reached a stop with this person. She was my Great Grandmother. From the 1901 census (she was Jane Stevens by then), I know she was born approximately 1862 in Whitechapel. My Grandfather's birth cert shows her as Jane Stevens formerly Hier but I can't find any other info relating to her. She was married to Robert and they had what I believe to be their first child in 1885. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks for your time.

Jane Mier - could be...wrongly misread by registrar originally, or by the transcriber. Do you know if your Robert had a second name of Samuel.

Also on Ancestry:

Name: Robert Samuel Stevens
Age: 22

Spouse Age: 22
Record Type: Marriage
Event Date: 25 Dec 1883

I looked at the original, definitely Mier not Hier.

Is it possible you've misread Hier on the birth certificate, could it be Mier.

Just found the marriage on ancestry, it was St. Leonard's, Shoreditch, Christmas Day,
Robert Samuel Stevens, 22,bachelor, gasman or barman@, 9 Union St., father Walter Stevens.
Jane Mier, 22, spinster, 9 Long St., father Frederick Mier.
both signed. Witnesses: Henry William Stevens (signed) and Amelia Mier (signed).
