i now have all birth cert chrisp , walter and albert and they say the same as robert mother emma cooper and no name for dad but on all of them its has dock labourer crossed out for fathers job witch is a bit weired i think but the thing is i can not find carolines birth records we was told she was by his 1st marrage but i still can not find her would it be that i am looking under wrong mother and she was like the rest and was born to emma

i got his birth cert and it only say rober william farrow there is no cooper you see i have not got copies i have the real things. my grandads brother keep them and no one ever new he had them. and on his marrage cert father is deceaced .

I think because of the marriage situation, (him possibly having an absconded wife) he's not legally been listed as father, as they were not actually married.

As for his marriage cert, have you checked to see if his father was still alive? It maybe he did not known his fathers full true name and guessed it!

Robert was born/registered Robert William Farrow Cooper?

I think the couple have correctly legally named their son Cooper, but the son may never have known himself his name was anything other than Farrow!! It's quite common.... esp in an age back then of minimal information.

His Death cert will only have the information on it the informant believes to be correct at the time..... if the informant did not know he was born a Cooper then they are not going to register their death as such!

i have just got robert william farrow birth cert and it say his mum is emma cooper formoly green but it say father unknown but in all the census it say father is crisp robert farrow and then on his marrage cert robert had put fathers name down as christopher willoughby farrow. but on birth marrage and death robert is down as farrow only not farrow cooper. so could any one tell me how i would go about finding out who roberts father really is please

Well it maybe she left?

I cannot find a death of a child for the area, it's still possible she has died.

I'll take a look at it a bit more, maybe she's gone back to her parents?

Do you have the certs from Chrisp downwards?

I have not tried to find the births of the others, but may indicate where the mother may have died?

Could she have died having Robert? or indeed is she dead? I cannot seem to find a death for her yet!

Without any explaination attached or even a request for more info from someone else, you put that data there as if it were complete... and it wasn't.

albert walter and chrisp all have farrow copper on there birth cert but the other 2 dont
